New China club installs d&b

CHINA: The newly-opened Victoria Fashion Club in Foshan, Guangdong, has been installed with a sound system by d&b audiotechnik China.
d&b designed the system for the club, which features a catwalk-style layout, using EASE acoustic modelling software. The central catwalk, used for shows featuring international models, is T-shaped and can be lowered to provide a larger dance floor area.
The main system comprises four groups of two Ci7-TOP two-way installation loudspeakers, which focus towards the dance floor and catwalk area. Twelve Ci7-SUB subwoofers are positioned around the walls of the club to provide more low frequency energy. Eight B2-SUB subwoofers are installed around the room for extra deep bass: four around the catwalk and one in each of the four corners of the room. Throughout the club MAX two-way coaxial loudspeakers are used to provide even coverage for the seating booths that surround the dance floor and catwalk area, with a further two installed in a private karaoke room. d&b D6 and D12 amplifiers power the complete system.
‘We are very happy with the sound of our new club,’ said Mr Jun Lau, assistant to the club owner. ‘It sounds great. It’s easy to listen to and even at high volumes the system doesn’t create unpleasant noise, yet it’s powerful enough for the high SPLs we need for our late night sets.
The Victoria Fashion Club has a varied musical policy, starting with quieter R&B early on, working towards louder hip hop from 10 until midnight, then cranking it up until 3am with a house music set. The club also occasionally hosts vocalists and live musicians.
