New deputy MD for Shure Asia Pacific Business Unit

CHINA: Shure has announced the promotion of William Chan to become the microphone manufacturer’s Asia Pacific Business Unit’s deputy managing director. He was previously regional marketing director for the Asia Pacific region – a role he adopted in 2008.
In his new position, Mr Chan will be responsible for the direct management of the sales and marketing and support teams based in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Tokyo. He is described by the manufacturer as ‘having made a tremendous contribution in strategic marketing planning, brand and marketing communications, and product marketing for Asia’.
‘William has been an integral part of our success in Asia and I am certain he will continue to demonstrate his management abilities in the Business Unit,’ commented Al Hershner, vice president of Shure’s Asia Pacific and Americas business units.
Prior to joining Shure Mr Chan worked with Apple Asia and Oracle in Greater China, holding various strategic positions in product marketing and marketing communications.
