New GM for Harman signal processing

WORLD: Harman Professional has appointed Timothy (TJ) Smith to lead its signal processing business unit. In this role Mr Smith will oversee all aspects of the BSS Audio, dbx, Lexicon Professional and DigiTech brands.

Mr Smith joined the company in 2000 and has been appointed to increasingly senior positions, most recently serving as senior director, China Operations where he was responsible for new product development, engineering and all general business activity for the manufacturer’s China office. He will be based in the company’s Sandy, Utah offices and report directly to John Fitzgerald VP and general manager of Harman Professional’s signal processor/amplifier business units. 

‘In making this appointment, Harman Professional is drawing on our considerable base of internal talent,’ said Mr Fitzgerald. ‘By promoting TJ Smith, we’re putting a proven leader with deep market experience, strong technology expertise and a keen understanding of customer needs in charge of an important business unit and providing him with a broad but clear mandate for innovation, integration and growth.’
