New iLive at Guotai Arts Centre made for ‘an easy transition’

CHINA: An Allen & Heath iLive digital mixing system has been installed as the new FOH console at the Guotai Arts Centre in Chongqing. Sanecore Group installed all of the audio systems, which cover the performance, PA, intercom, recording and broadcasting systems, as well as the stage lighting.

Spanning 36,000 sp-m, the Centre is a versatile venue that hosts stages musicals, operas, drama, entertainment, exhibitions and commercial events. The equipment selected for the FOH position included an iLive-176 surface and iDR10 MixRack.

‘At the end of the first show at the Guotai Arts Centre, Zhuzhi Fengliu, both the production team and sound engineers praised the perfect sound quality and said iLive was very easy to use,’ explained venue sound engineer, Chen Le. ‘Our previous mixer was an analogue GL3800, and the analogue-style strip design on iLive made it an easy transition. The output group, aux and matrix are as easy as those on a GL3800, and all with 1/3 octave GEQ.’
