Newtec appoints chief commercial officer

WORLD: Thomas Van den Driessche has been appointed as Newtec’s chief commercial officer where he will lead the global sales team whist overseeing the company’s marketing strategy. He will work closely with the regional sales VPs for Asia, EMEA and America.
Having joined Newtec as a regional sales director for Europe in 2007 and after holding several positions in the company since then – including VP of market strategy – Mr Van den Driessche brings his experience in sales, marketing and management to the role.
‘I have eagerly accepted this challenge as these are exciting times for Newtec,’ said Mr Van den Driessche. ‘We are transitioning from a “medium size satcom vendor” to one of the major satellite technology players. I am sure that there will be great opportunities ahead for Newtec to continue to lead the satellite industry with the development of innovative technologies enabling our customers to achieve their business objectives.’
