Nexo chosen for Sydneys Hilton hotel Marble Bar

AUSTRALIA: The Sydney-based Hilton hotel’s ‘iconic’ Marble Bar has received an upgraded sound system from Nexo. Supplied by Sydney’s Bump Productions, the bar’s Italian renaissance theme was kept in mind when installing the new sound reinforcement system.
Due to the heritage status of the building, the owners stressed that they had to be particular about reflecting the bar’s sleek aesthetic design, insisting upon a low profile system.
Keith Eisenhuth from Bump Productions reports that Nexo was a suitable solution as it would enable him to design a system that could deliver high output using point and subtle shoot boxes that wouldn’t conflict with the bar’s decor. Mr Eisenhuth installed and commissioned two PS15 and two PS10 loudspeakers, two RS15 subwoofers, and two MS601 wall mount speakers from Quest. To compliment the system, Camco QPower10 and DPower4 amplifiers were chosen to power the kit.
Mr Eisenhuth reports that the clients at the Marble Bar were extremely happy with the system: ‘The clients have never heard the room sound better, especially as the venue deals with every type of live music that could possibly be booked.’
Originally opening in 1893, the Marble Bar was demolished in 1972 to make way for the Hilton Hotel. The entire bar was re-constructed underneath the hotel, and since then has undergone a complete restorative overall encompassing over 100 tonnes of marble from Belgium and Africa.
