Nexo STM covers Falls Festival

AUSTRALIA: A Nexo STM system was put to use for the recent Falls Music and Arts Festival in Australia. Rental company Monitor City was in charge of production for the Lorne site, which boasted a line up that included Flume, Peking Duk, Ajax, Ash Grunwald and Cosmo Jarvis.

Beginning as a small one day concert in Lorne, Victoria, the Falls has now grown into a three-day event spanning two locations: the original site in Lorne and the Marion Bay in Tasmania. The audio needed to cater for a crowd of over 16,000 people, leading Monitor City to opt for its Nexo STM rig for the main PA, distributed by Group Technologies.

A dual array comprised of nine M46 main modules and nine B112 bass modules per side was flown using two PTILT pick up points. This was from the front and back of the main beam to the motors. A Leva Hoist was then connected to the bottom coupler/bumper to compress the array to their correct angles.

A total of 12 RS18 subs were also used in six stacks of two each across the stage. Four Nexo Geo S1210s were used as front-fills, stacked onto the RS18s. Powering the PA were six Nuar racks, configured three per side.
