Novatech takes Australias first Kara system

AUSTRALIA: The first L-Acoustics Kara line-source system in Australia has been purchased by Adelaide-based audiovisual production company Novatech Creative Event Technology. The purchase has been described by Novatech managing director Leko Novakovic as ‘an obvious one’.

Already an L-Acoustics rental partner, Novatech services events including corporate conferences, gala dinners, product launches, company roadshows and concerts. Also included within its inventory are brands including Avid, Midas, Sennheiser and Shure. The company’s Kara purchase comprises a K-Standard system including LA-RAKs, 24 Kara cabinets and 16 SB18 subs plus amplified controllers and rigging. The shipment is expected to arrive later in the year.

‘As an L-Acoustics Rental Network Partner, we felt there was a spot in our inventory that Kara has filled perfectly,’ explained Mr Novakovic. ‘It ticks all the right boxes in terms of performance, size, weight, rigging and flexibility and compliments our extensive range of hire inventory which now exceeds more than 300 cabinets.’

James Sacca, Novatech’s head of audio, added: ‘Kara is an incredibly powerful and versatile system with an exceptionally high level of intelligibility. The new rigging system is simply brilliant, cutting rigging time by half. I have no doubt that Kara, like its predecessor dV-Dosc, will be respected for many years to come.’
