One Systems provides outdoor sound at Queensland sports complex

AUSTRALIA: A One Systems all-weather loudspeaker system is serving the background music and vocal announcement requirements of a $2.3million sports complex in Biloela, a fast-growing rural town in Queensland. Installed by local systems integrator Rifftone Music Supplies, the equipment was supplied by Australian distributor CMI Music & Audio.
Named the Magavilis Sports Complex, the leisure facility was constructed following a 2009 government grant and includes a large outdoor area with netball and tennis courts. A BGM and voice announcement solution was required for the outdoor spaces that could cope with varying weather conditions. In response, Rifftone Music Supplies’ Gary Sorrensen selected 6-inch 106IM loudspeakers from One Systems alongside an MP6250 six channel mixer amplifier and a 450W MP2000 amplifier from Chinese manufacturer DSPPA.
‘This is a new sporting complex with a need for an audio system that can cope with everything nature can throw at it while still delivering pleasing sound for both vocal announcements and background music,’ explained Mr Sorrensen. ‘It’s a hard task for any speaker. The One Systems 106IM 100V line speaker offers warm sounding reproduction as well as wide dispersion. Also having the transformer option is great with long cable runs to speaker positions. They have a great sound compared to the standard reflex horn option.’
