One Systems stimulates Macau Tower Sky Jump

CHINA: An installation of One Systems loudspeakers is being used to help excite visitors to the Macau Tower Sky Jump, a bungee-rope attraction based at the Macau Tower Convention and Entertainment Centre that sees thrill-seekers plunge 233m over the city. The system was designed and supplied by One Systems’ Hong Kong-based distributor Sound Classy, with integration by Sound & Lighting Service Centre.
Alongside the tower jump attraction, the Tower provides visitors with panoramic city views, restaurants and theaters, plus a mast jump, a bungee jump, and a skywalk around the outer rim of the tower. However, prior to the new installation, the Sky Jump attraction had relied for years on an outdated voice-only public address system. Replacing it are ceiling-mounted 112UM two-way, full-range enclosures and 212Sub-W subwoofers fixed to the floor of the Level 61 observation deck.
According to Sound Classy, the management team behind Sky Jump requested a budget-conscious but powerful system with high intelligibility. ‘These speakers really needed to have the power to cut through the ambient noises atop the tower in order to drive the emotion and energy the guests need before they take the jump,’ explained Chris Fung. ‘Our client wanted their customers to have a visual, physical and audio experience like never before.’
One Systems president Doug MacCallum added that the loudspeakers’ output and mounting options were ‘able to provide outstanding coverage to this unique tourist attraction’.
