One Systems takes flight at worlds largest bird park

SINGAPORE: The largest bird park in the world has installed One Systems direct weather speaker solutions in an effort to combat harsh environmental conditions. Named Jurong Bird Park, the attraction draws approximately 900,000 visitors each year.

Singapore’s tropical climate proved to be too much for the park’s previous weather resistant speakers, prompting it to opt for the new system. The design and installation was overseen by One Systems, and comprises lightweight 112IM and 108IM all-weather loudspeakers and low frequency, 18-inch 118Sub-W subwoofers. Driving the system are 5000W Phonic XP5000 amplifiers and an Ashly Audio Protea 3.6SP digital signal system processor.

Mr Mok of local integrator Prolight, said: ‘The client is very impressed with the performance of the system and were happy to learn that the speakers would be fully exposed without the need for unsightly covers or shelters’.

Opening in 1971, Jurong Bird Park currently houses 4,600 birds representing 380 species.
