AUSTRALIA: Professional Audio & Television (PAT) has recently supplied a 12-fader Lawo Crystal MKII console as part of a refit of the Faculty of Arts’ radio studios at Sydney’s Macquarie University.
The newly refurbished studios include an On Air studio that houses the console, an On Air production control room, production booth and digital outside broadcast facility. After a lengthy evaluation processes with the University and working in close collaboration with its radio facilities manager, Peter Ring, the Crystal console was chosen and paired with VisTool control and visualisation software, which was then custom configured by Mr Ring.
‘Macquarie University certainly made the right decision in providing students with a technology platform they will encounter in the real broadcast industry,’ commented PAT’s engineering manager, Adam Langham. ‘It was a pleasure to work so closely with Mr Ring to deliver a state of the art cutting edge studio for one of the leading educational facilities in Australia.’
