Peplus Audio supplies audio for Love Garage

INDONESIA: Peplus Audio was chosen to provide the audio for the recent Love Garage band and DJ festival in Indonesia. Held at the Plaza EX Outdoor, the annual show (now in its fourth year) was organised by Ismaya Live, and attracted a reported 7,000 music lovers over two days.
The festival saw artists such as Royksopp, James Yuil, Canyons and Bag Raiders take the stage to perform. ‘The Royksopp engineer asked for 110db at FOH with no distortion, so we supplied d&b Audiotechnik equipment comprising 20 Q1 loudspeakers, 18 Q-Subs, and put six B2-Subs at the centre with another four Q7s,’ said Peplus Audio’s Rizky Pohan.
Fifteen d&b D12 amplifiers were selected to drive the system. ‘The sound system achieved what the engineer asked for and the production team were happy with the system that we provided,’ he added. ‘The Royksopp engineer was very pleased and surprised with the sound produced by the d&b Q series.’
On the first day, Peplus Audio also provided Electro-Voice Qrx loudspeakers with Xsubs for side-fills and an Avid Venue SC48 live sound system for FOH. A Yamaha M7CL was supplied for all monitors and backlines.
On the second day, Peplus Audio worked with Sumber Ria. The company’s Mr Ari assisted the team with providing an Avid Venue Profile system, an in-ear monitoring system, RCF floor monitors, as well as backlines and microphones.
Commenting on Peplus Audio's relationship with Sumber Ria, Mr Pohan said: ‘It’s nice to able to work with them for this show because they have so much experience with this type of festival. We've worked with them several times before and have a good relationship with them,’ he added.
‘Apart from the weather, a challenge was that we had to ensure that all the performers’ channels and requirements did not change after their sound checks,’ he admitted. ‘Also, the speaker placement was a bit of a challenge due to the programming of video mapping. Luckily our Q System is small enough to hang in front of the front truss from the stage,’ he explained.
‘I hope to supply the audio next year too, and as far as I know, the promoter is satisfied with our services – they have already booked us for another event that will take place in three months,’ he enthused. ‘The organiser really likes the system, and has used our services before for other events.’
