Performing Arts Center upgrades with McCauley

TAIWAN: Super Light Technology Co Ltd recently supplied a McCauley sound reinforcement system as part of an upgrade for the 1,062-seat Performing Arts Center at the Cultural Affairs Bureau in Hsinchu City.
The Performing Arts Center is primarily used for musical performances, although it is often utilised for dance shows and plays. Due to the annual Golden Horse awards ceremony cinema event that was to due be held at the premises, the Cultural Affairs Bureau approached the Taiwanese government for a budget to improve the audio in time.
The centre was equipped with 10 McCauley N90 line array speakers, two N120 cabinets for down-fill, with four NS1 line arrays by the sides of the stage. Meanwhile, two ID2.112-96 front-fill units were installed, as was a McCauley M408 system processor.
MC2 Audio amplifiers, comprising one T1500, two T2000s, two E4-75s, two E45s, and two DA82 distribution amplifiers from LA Audio drive the entire system.
‘It’s amazing that McCauley Sound’s line array speaker system presents such excellent sound pressure and field uniformity,’ said Wei Sheng, theatre sound engineer. ‘Even when testing the sound pressure and uniformity among 1,000 seats, it gives a far better than standard result.’
