PLS calls on Audiocenter for Sek Loso at Chiang Mai

THAILAND: An Audiocenter line array system was called upon to provide reinforcement for the recent Sek Loso concert in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Led by Seksan Sukpimai, who is credited as one of Thailand’s most famous singers and rock musicians, the band is one of the first from Thailand to achieve success on the international music scene. Bangkok-based Professional Light and Sound (PLS) was called upon to provide an audio solution capable of catering to the 25,000-strong crowd.

The PA system was constructed from Audiocenter V-HLA12+ line array elements, with left and right clusters featuring 12 cabinets per side. For low frequency reinforcement, PLS called upon 16 Audiocenter SW-218 dual 18-inch subwoofers that were ‘strategically positioned’ in front of the stage. Providing side fills for the stage area were two K-LA28 line array clusters each comprising two K-LA28 main elements and a single PF-218B+ subwoofer. Front fills were handled by TS series DSP controlled loudspeakers, with four cabinets deployed, while on-stage monitoring was provided by both 12-inch and 15-inch PF+ series speakers. The entire audio system was powered by Audiocenter’s DA series amplifiers.

Following the concert, the installers noted that ‘overall the FOH engineer thoroughly enjoyed the concert and commended the way we had set up the sound system’.
