MALDIVES: Pop Joy, which was recently appointed as the authorised dealer for Harman Professional in the Maldives, recently provided a Harman live sound reinforcement system for an address given by Dr Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik, president of the Maldives.
The speech took place on an artificial beach area Malé, and was part of a rally organised by coalition political parties backing the government. Pop Joy deployed a total of 12 JBL VT4888DP and 10 JBL VRX932LAP loudspeaker arrays. The VerTec VT4888DP mid-sized line array loudspeakers were ground stacked providing the main sound, and JBL VRX, PRX and EON loudspeakers provided further support.
JBL VRX arrays were also utilised for roads connected to the artificial beach area, whilst JBL PRX612 and EON515XT series loudspeakers were used as stage monitors. A Soundcraft Si Compact 32 console and AKG D5 microphones were also used during the address.
Pop Joy’s sound engineer Mohamed Ikram was responsible for the overall sound design and mixing engineering duties, and was assisted by Mohamed Shaam and Asad Haneef.
Established in January 2010, Pop Joy reports that it is the only company in the Maldives that owns a JBL VerTec line array loudspeaker system.
