Powersoft and EAW power China’s S.Muse nightclub

CHINA: Situated in Tanggu, in the Chinese district of Tianjin, the 600-capacity S.Muse nightclub has become the newest addition to the Muse Chain. The high-powered venue was looking for a similarly matched audio system, eventually opting to install an EAW Avalon solution powered by Powersoft amplifiers.
The Muse club chain has grown in recent years to encompass more than 18 venues spread throughout the country. The audio installation at S.Muse was performed by Sanecore Audio, Powersoft’s Chinese distributor.
‘We demonstrated Powersoft’s reliability and high output, with an impressive power factor of more than 0.95,’ explained Alan Ho from Sanecore Audio. ‘We also stressed the high signal-to-noise ratio and damping factor, with four presets on board and a selection button.’
Four Powersoft K10 amplifiers, 22 K3s and nine M28Q 4-channel amps were specified for the club. These are assigned to four EAW Avalon Club.two speakers mounted 4m high and firing down at the dancefloor, and four Avalon Sub.two enclosures.
Four compact Club.four loudspeakers are also used as near-field monitors for the DJ booth. Fourteen EAW JF59 and 10 EAW LA128ZR loudspeakers deliver music to the lounge areas on the first and second floor. These are processed through an EAW UX8800 DSP and mixed through an Allen & Heath GLD-080/X consoles.
‘Overall, they were able to sell the Powersoft solution on the strength of its built-in DSP, with each channel configured with a fully parametric EQ and clip limiter,’ continued Mr Ho. ‘The Ethernet interface for system setup, monitoring and control was the icing on the cake.’
‘I think the performance of the EAW Avalon loudspeaker has pushed the sound effects of our club to their extremes,” concluded Mr Sun, manager of the Tianjin club. ‘Avalon is the most amazing dedicated sound system I have heard so far.’
