CHINA: A combination of EAW sound reinforcement and Powersoft amplification was recently deployed for China’s Fairy Mountains Music Festival, which took place in Wulong, Chongqing. The event – limited to a maximum capacity of 5,000 attendees per day – was supported by local rental company Chongqing Stagecraft Sound & Light Co Ltd, and featured acts including Wu Bai, Chang Chen-yue, Landy Wen and Qin Yong.
A total of 16 EAW KF760 and eight KF740 cabinets formed the front of house reinforcement system, flown in two left-right arrays of eight and four cabinets respectively. Two EAW UX8800 processors provided loudspeaker management while the system was driven by 18 Powersoft K Series amplifiers originally purchased from Sanecore, comprising 12 K3 and six K10 units.
Following the festival, FOH engineer Hu Dayi was full of praise for the system. ‘These compact amplifiers from Powersoft offer an amazing amount of power,’ he enthused. Huang Daosheng, general manager of Wulong KARST Group, which co-hosted the festival, added his agreement, declaring that the overall sound system was ‘amazing’.
