PreSonus holds digital mixer training in the Philippines

PHILIPPINES: PreSonus distributor Modular Display Inc recently held a digital mixing seminar at the manufacturer’s booth during Palmm Philippines. Approximately 40 people attended the seminar, including representatives from churches, rental groups, broadcast companies and government agencies.
The audio seminar, entitled ‘Digital Mixer: The Future is Now!’ was co-produced by Technical Group for Events and Entertainment and PreSonus Philippines. Full time PreSonus Philippines resource speaker Mark Anthony Yulo of Audio Solutions led the seminar, which attracted existing StudioLive users and a number of analogue-based engineers.
‘With the PreSonus VSL, it is a lot easier to learn and understand the mixer and processors, especially since it was also presented in an interactive manner,’ said Alvin Quisumbing of Modular Display. ‘Another great thing about the seminar was the Capture segment. With Capture, it was like we had brought a virtual band along with us to play, and since playback is per track/per channel, learning was made easier while we tweaked and mixed. You could see and hear the difference in every knob we turned,’ he added. ‘PreSonus delivers the best seminars, since no other brand has the Virtual StudioLive. To wow the attendees, we brought along our iPad for the wireless remote section, and used iPhones for the Q-Mix wireless monitoring part,’ he added.
‘There is a growing need for audio training in the Philippines, and it is now slowly embracing digital technology,’ Mr Quisumbing continued. ‘Training is very important – you get to learn how to use audio equipment, understand sound, know the right application and get that right mix.’
Due to the growing need for this type of training, Audio Solutions and Modular Display has announced it has established the first PreSonus training centre in Quezon City. ‘For next year’s show, we are ready for more training,’ stated Mr Quisumbing. ‘If training during the show is not enough, our PreSonus training centre is always open to accommodate everybody.’
