Pro Connect Asia – Mumbai event declared ‘resounding success’

INDIA: The third in the Pro Connect Asia series of networking events has taken place in India, drawing key industry figures to the beautiful setting of the garden terrace at Waterstone’s Hotel in Mumbai. The event, which followed previous dates in Jakarta and Singapore, was pronounced a resounding success by those present, with requests for future dates to be scheduled.

Contributing editor of Pro Audio Asia, Caroline Moss, welcomed the guests who included key manufacturers, local distributors, integrators and engineers, encouraging them to use the evening as a platform for conversation, networking and the exchange of ideas. A number of exciting initiatives were discussed during the course of the evening, including the possibility of organising educational seminars, plus arranging for an Indian delegation to visit Winter NAMM 2015 in Anaheim, California.

‘It was a truly wonderful event,’ said Prashant Govindan, Harman’s director of India operations. ‘The food and the venue were fantastic and the chance to catch up with people we never normally get to speak to was wonderful. We haven’t been to anything like this before.’ Harman’s marketing director Ankush Agarwal was also grateful for the networking opportunities the event provided. ‘I’ve met people from the industry I don’t normally come into contact with, and it’s been a lot of fun,’ he said.

Among the attendees were a number of systems integrators attending the nearby InfoComm India trade show. ‘Looking around the event, everyone is a key player in our industry, and it is rare to see them in one place,’ said Rajeev Arora, principal consultant at Qubix Technologies.

‘It’s great to see Pro Audio Asia host the Indian pro A/V industry and bring together a great cross-section of professionals in this lovely setting,’ added Sushil John, SAARC business director at QSC. ‘I’ve had the opportunity to sit and have proper, relaxed conversations, which often isn’t possible at a busy trade show.’

The event was the latest in the Pro Connect series of networking nights, the next of which will take place in Dubai in October under the Pro Connect Middle East brand.

Pro Connect Asia brings members of the industry together to discuss topical issues while we listen,’ said Ms Moss. ‘The events provide a laid-back, no-pressure atmosphere where peers can meet, connect and share ideas in the knowledge that there is no agenda and that no one is trying to sell to them.'
