Promedia to distribute myMix in Indonesia

INDONESIA: Promedia Innovative Solution (PIS) has been appointed as the new exclusive distributor for myMix in Indonesia, with managing director Yosua Yan Heriyanto describing the personal monitoring system as ‘a perfect fit for house of worship applications’.

The agreement follows a long period of discussions between the two companies, culminating in myMix’s Mathias von Heydekampf visiting the recent Java Jazz Festival to conclude negotiations.

‘Yosua approached me and he wouldn’t let go!’ explained Mr von Heydekampf. ‘He was very convincing so I visited him in Indonesia during Java Jazz and I was sold. He’s the guy and I’m very happy about that.’

PIS is renowned within the Indonesian market for its strong links to the house of worship market – Mr Heriyanto is himself a practicing pastor. ‘We have so many major installations for houses of worship and the main problem now in Indonesia is always that musicians cannot hear what they need to hear,’ he explained. ‘MyMix will solve that problem.’

Mr Heriyanto added that education will play a large role in growing myMix within the territory. ‘We have a dedicated education division and also the School of Sound Recording in Jakarta,’ he explained. ‘We will hold regular myMix academies there, inviting students, end-users and rental companies.’

Mr von Heydekampf added: ‘Indonesia is a big, big market and they have a culture of music. It’s not just Indonesian houses of worship that we’re interested in but all of the musicians there. We need a strong company who understands education as we need to teach the market what’s possible with myMix. We think that Yosua is a wonderful fit and we’re looking forward to working with PIS.’

The agreement also follows the appointment by myMix of Tommy Kim as director of business development for Asia.
