QSC joins with Shanghai Institute of Acoustics for seminar

CHINA: The Shanghai Institute of Acoustics and QSC recently held a joint seminar at the InterContinental Pudong Hotel. The event took the title ‘The latest development and application of network audio and film sound technology’.

Approximately 110 attendees were present to hear chief speaker and QSC vice president of networking strategy Richard Zwiebel discuss the development of networking technology including QSC’s own Q-Sys system.

Included among the delegates were representatives of the East China Architectural Design Institute, the Shanghai Institute of Architectural Design, Tongji University’s Architectural Design Institute and Institute of Acoustics, and senior experts from the Zhang Kuisheng Institute of Acoustics. A broad range of systems integrators were also present.

During the meeting, Mr Zwiebel reviewed the development of audio networking and introduced the individual characteristics of various protocols including CobraNet, EtherSound, Dante, Q-LAN, and the emerging AVB standard. Specific examples of Q-Sys being used in reference applications such as conferences, theme parks and traffic control systems were also presented. Concluding the seminar meanwhile was a specially arranged demonstration of QSC’s digital cinema range.
