Quest supplies ambience for HK’s Ovolo Southside

HONG KONG: Located in a former warehouse with sweeping views across Wong Chuk Hang and Aberdeen, Ovolo Southside is one of Hong Kong’s most exciting new hotels. With a nod to the thriving arts scene and pop up events happening locally, the hotel’s numerous bar, club and restaurant spaces, supplied with Quest audio systems by distributor Den Sound Boutique, have an industrial, edgy style in keeping with the neighbourhood.
GIG, the ground floor and entrance to the building, is an open plan gallery and events space that can host art exhibitions, fashion shows, product launches, corporate events and private parties. Featuring high ceilings with 18m video wall displays, GIG has been installed with five Quest HPI8i two-way multipurpose passive speakers with three HPI12S compact passive subwoofers.
Moving up to the third floor Lo Lounge, a further Quest system has been installed, this time comprising of six HPI25 dual 5-inch cabinets and a HPI212S high-powered sub.
Discreet Quest MS601 all-weather cabinets provide the sounds in the fourth floor restaurant, Cirqule, which features an open kitchen and outdoor terrace, while four QM108 ultra compact 8-inch speakers and a QM600S sub have been installed in the indoor area of Above, the 23rd floor bar which leads onto an expansive terrace with panoramic views. All Quest systems are powered by Lab.gruppen amplifiers, with Biamp loudspeaker processing and network control.

All audio systems for the building were specified by consultant Nick Stephens from Nexus Technologies and installed by local system integrator LSI Services.
