Rational Acoustics Smaart course now offers CTS renewal units

WORLD: Rational Acoustics has been approved by InfoComm International as a Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) Program Provider. Attendees completing the company’s flagship two-day training class Smaart Fundamentals and Applications will now receive 6.5 CTS renewal units in either the CTS general or CTS-I (installation) programs.

InfoComm CTS certifications are awarded for a period of three years, during which participants wishing to maintain their status must meet the renewal requirements of the InfoComm Certification Committee, including the completion of 30 approved renewal units (RUs).

The approval of the Smaart Fundamentals and Applications class to deliver 6.5 of those units follows a three year period in which Rational Acoustics has expanded its education program to encompass a network of 10 authorised Smaart instructors conducting over 50 training classes worldwide each year. The flagship class covers the basic principles and practices of setting up a Smaart measurement system and using it to make RTA, spectrograph, frequency response (transfer function) and impulse response measurements.

The official accreditation date of the class was May 26th 2011, meaning that as InfoComm allows a 30-day retroactive credit, anyone who participated in the class after April 26th 2011 can receive the renewal units.

Meanwhile, a two-day class is set to take place in Singapore on July 18th and 19th.
