RCF holds its first export distributor meeting

MALAYSIA: In an event dedicated to RCF’s East Asian/Oceania distributors, the manufacturer recently held its first ever export distributor meeting in Malaysia.
The Sonar meeting was organised by RCF’s sales manager Lars Yoshiyama with support from Tan Pau Yee from Acoustic & Lighting, and attracted a total of 31 representatives who came to learn about RCF products and observe a presentation on line array principles.
Representatives from Proaktiv, Leafun, Sound Solution, Forerunner, Ballad, PT Kairos Multi Jaya, Acoustic & Lighting, Winly, Direct Imports and RCF were invited to the meeting, which focussed on RCF line arrays, RDNet, and routing systems for the installation market.
The seminar drew particular attention to the manufacturer's D Line Array HDL20A. RCF's DXT 9000/7000 voice evacuation systems and TTL55A line array were on display. The distributors were able to listen to RCF’s HD10A and HD12A D Line cabinets, the Media Series, the TTL11A sound column, the VSA 2050 and VSA 1250 steerable line arrays and the TT052A and TT051A compact near field speakers. The brand’s Studio Monitors were also demonstrated.
‘There are many reasons why a distributor meeting makes sense and personally I think it is more important than any participation at exhibitions,’ Mr Yoshiyama confessed. ‘You have time enough to explain the product deeply, and you can explain the company's strategy and long term vision.’
Continuing, he said: ‘The distributors can share their experience and help each other in identifying possible markets, and they all came together and created a feeling of belonging to the RCF family which motivates them very much,’ he enthused. ‘By seeing that the supplier takes care of them in the proper way makes them feel obliged to do the same.
‘From an economical point of view it was very logical to do because it is better to ask everyone to come to one place instead of giving seminars to everybody individually,’ he furthered.
‘Due to such positive feedback we really want to make a series out of the meeting,’ he confided. ‘Next year we will choose another destination in the Asian region and then we will add some new aspects like organised group discussions.’
In an anonymous survey, a participant described the event as ‘well worth the trip’. The attendee also said that the Sonar meeting was ‘very informative and helped me learn more about the RCF range, and it's a good opportunity to get together and share information with each other and to learn about new products. It would be great for this to be a regular event so that we can all interact and talk about our experiences and opportunities.’
An RCF Forum 6000 conference system was used during the meeting.
