WORLD: Italian loudspeaker manufacturer RCF is working with the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia to offer access to a month long course in the principles of sound design. Taking place between May and June 2013 at the RCF Audio Academy premises in Reggio Emilia, Italy, the course will offer participants an insight into ‘state-of-the-art technologies related to sound, transducers and speaker systems and their applications in the professional market’.
The 120-hour course – more details of which can be found on the Pro Audio Central training calendar – is being held in conjunction with the Department of Science and Methods for Engineering of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. Between 10 and 20 budding audio professionals with a degree in engineering or similar educational background will be sponsored by RCF following consideration of applicants’ CVs.
According to the loudspeaker manufacturer, the course will be organised in modules taking participants from the basics of electro-acoustic components through to the design of a complete audio project based on a real RCF case study.
Among the topics discussed will be environmental acoustics in the open air and inner spaces including design and simulation methods; transducers and speaker systems including clusters, arrays and point source configurations; electronics including circuit analysis, filters, amplifiers and DSP; and sound systems design including practical experiences in measurements, listening tests and tuning.
Potential applicants must supply their personal data and CV to RCF for consideration before March 29th, 2013. To find out more, follow the link below or visit the Pro Audio Central training calendar.
