Reynolds Inc and Rivera International to host Buford Jones sound mixing workshops

INDIA: Reynolds Inc and Rivera International will host three two-day sound mixing workshops in September, each led by front of house engineer Buford Jones. Held in three different locations in India, Mr Jones will review aspects of his extensive career on the first day, and on the second will demonstrate a ‘hands-on’ mixing session.
On the first day, Mr Jones, who has been a front of house engineer for Pink Floyd, Eric Clapton, James Taylor, Stevie Wonder, David Bowie and ZZ Top, will review his career and how he got started as a mix engineer, as well as discuss his thoughts on the benefits of mixing on linear sound systems. Mr Jones will also share his thoughts on the importance of communication between an artist and a mix engineer, the value of reviewing board mixes, and tips on how to keep organised when involved with productions or tours. A variety of recorded samples of board mixes from different artists Mr Jones has worked with will be played and evaluated.
Meanwhile, on the second day, Mr Jones will use a DiGiCo SD8 console and a PA system by Meyer Sound to demonstrate his process of approaching a mix. During the workshop attendees will have the opportunity to take turns using the SD8 console and put together their own mixes.
The workshop will take place on the 5th and 6th of September in the Mahogany banquet hall in The Club, Mumbai. Bangalore workshops will take place on the 9th and 10th of September in the Catholic Club, Museum Road. The last of the seminars will take place in Delhi on the 12th and 13th of September in the Casurina Room in the India Habitat Centre.
