Riedel’s Acrobat provides reliable communications for Crown Melbourne

AUSTRALIA: A Riedel Communications’ Acrobat System has been selected as the wireless platform of choice as part of an upgrade at Crown Melbourne, one of Australia’s premier events locations. Supplied and operated by integrated events service provider, Staging Connections, the Acrobat system covers multiple areas across the casino and supports the daily events that the venue hosts.
‘Riedel's Acrobat system provides the reliability and performance we require to offer our customers top-quality event services with flawless communications,’ said Ian Kirkwood, head of production, Melbourne, Staging Connections. ‘Equally important has been Riedel's ability to supply the optimal solution for a given application. In this case, the company's 1.9Ghz band equipment allows us to ensure uncompromising intercom performance, regardless of the demands being made on the local network.’
This is a particularly important consideration for a venue like a casino, where large numbers of phone and tablet-equipped customers connect to the casino’s in-house network for potentially hours at a time. The installed system allows Staging Connections to position up to 35 cells throughout the building and deploy up to 18 beltpacks. For major shows where bigger systems are required, the installed system can be expanded with additional rental units from Riedel Australia.
‘Staging Connections is not only the largest commercial A/V company in Australia, but also a leader in deploying advanced technologies to meet the unique needs of its customers,’ commented Cameron O'Neill, Riedel Communications Australia general manager. ‘The company's decision to upgrade the communications system at Crown Melbourne using our Acrobat digital wireless system is a great vote of confidence for the quality and reliability of the product.’
