Sanctuary Lakes Hotel gets Quest solution

AUSTRALIA: Pro Light and Sound Melbourne recently installed a Quest Engineering sound system into the Sanctuary Lakes Hotel, located in the newly developed Melbourne Australia seaside suburb of Point Cook. The audio system was distributed by Group Technologies, and needed to accommodate live, reproduced music and spoken word zoned throughout the complex for control of multiple event spaces.

Being experienced hoteliers, venue management were insistent that the hotel should obtain a solution that was ‘uncompromising in quality and that could be operated by any number of staff’. The venue serves the local area by hosting various council, corporate and sporting club functions, as well as a full program of entertainment.

The audio zones comprise the main bistro, Function Room 1, Function Room 2, the piano and live music bar, the tapas and cocktail bar, a kids play centre, a large gaming room, a comprehensive sports bar and three outdoor ‘breakout zones’ that are used for dining and drinking.

Quest Engineering’s discreet HPI series were installed into the piano bar, Function Room 1 and Function Room 2. These are augmented by Quest MS series speakers, which serve as a distributed system. The result is uniform sound and control of each audio space in an environment where sound spill can be an issue. Meanwhile, Ethernet-based video distribution handles both the multi channel sporting requirements and the entertainment, all controlled by touch panels.

‘I simply cannot believe how well Quest Engineering have done with their HPI series of speakers and subwoofer cabinets,’ said Jonathan Sinclair, sound designer overseeing the project. ‘The HPI series punches well above its weight and wins shootout after shootout. We have followed the Quest evolution and have long been a strong supporter of the brand. I'm thrilled to use the HPI series on high profile installations that demand only “top shelf” audio solutions’.
