KOREA: Following a consistent period of growth in the region, Sennheiser has taken the decision to expand its Asia activities through a new branch in South Korea. The new office is the first to be opened by the Asia subsidiary outside of its HQ in Singapore and consists of business development and marketing functions and an after-sales service centre. Overseen by Ng Chee Soon, president and MD of Sennheiser Asia, the branch will work together with local sales partners continuing to develop the market.
‘For almost seven decades, Sennheiser has been recognised as a global audio leader. Audiophiles, sound professionals, performers and music lovers worldwide support our vision - “Pursuit of Perfect Sound” - and use our products,’ stated Daniel Sennheiser, CEO of Sennheiser Group. ‘The opening of Sennheiser Electronic Asia’s new branch office in South Korea reflects a commitment to our local customers, bringing closer the expertise, experience and excellent service and quality that Sennheiser is known for worldwide.’
‘South Korea is one of the most economically and culturally advanced countries in the world,’ furthered Mr Soon. ‘Customers are willing to adopt the newest technologies and innovations. We have also seen a steady growth in the country’s premium audio market. With our strong heritage in sound and our advanced technologies, we believe we will rise further to become the country’s preferred premium audio brand.’
In line with the official opening, the manufacturer has announced plans to grow its market share in Korea by expanding its sales channels, working with local partners to open new concept stores, raising brand visibility, and enhancing end user engagement programmes.
‘We have doubled our revenues in the last four years,’ continued Mr Soon. ‘During this time, we grew our share in the headphones market significantly and reinforced our professional audio leadership positioning, especially in the broadcast and performance venues segment. We are confident that we are on track to meet our goal.’
