Sennheiser Asia presents inaugural official equipment reference site in Malaysia

MALAYSIA: Sennheiser Electronic Asia and local distributor, Acoustic & Lighting Sdn Bhd, installed the complete audio and lighting system in @Live Kuala Lumpur. All Sennheiser microphone systems installed in the entertainment venue were sponsored by Sennheiser Asia as part of a collaborative effort between Sennheiser Asia and @Live KL, making it Sennheiser Asia’s inaugural official equipment reference site in Malaysia.

The venue’s main stage has been equipped with four units of Sennheiser’s EW 145 G3 wireless vocal handheld microphones, four EW 152 G3 wireless vocal headset wireless microphones, and seven pieces of the e900 series drum kit microphones.

‘What I like the most about Sennheiser G3 systems is of course, its wireless capability,’ said @Live Kuala Lumpur’s technical manager, Faisal NA. ‘Not only does it give complete mobility and freedom to our performers, it is also really clear in terms of sound quality. But what really amazes me is its “sound capturing” sensitivity. It is so sensitive, even our band was quite surprised by this. This proves how suitable Sennheiser is for @Live KL,’ he stated.

Also installed was an L-Acoustics Arcs speaker system, which resides above the venue’s main performing stage, where @Live KL’s ‘All Star’ band perform – using Sennheiser wireless headset microphones.

Mounted on the stage trussing are six units of L-Acoustics Arcs medium format line source speakers, with an additional six units of L-Acoustics SB18 bass reflex vents-tuned subwoofers positioned under the stage. Two L-Acoustics LA8 amplified controllers power the speakers.

‘I look for impact and dynamics in a sound system,’ continued Faisal NA. ‘We need a system that can deliver impact and power, but at the same time provide a dynamic coverage control sound to the whole sound delivery. Besides live sound for large concern systems, L-Acoustics also provides good sound for indoor premises, so my expectations were definitely high.’

‘In @Live, we want the crowd to feel the true raw energy of a performance,’ said Kenni Koh, general manager of @Live Group Sdn Bhd. ‘We need a system that can support the capacity and the requirements of the performances, and I really like how reliable Sennheiser’s G3 wireless microphone system can be. There is hardly any interference to the signal – performers can bounce on the stage all they want, but Sennheiser can maintain a clear and consistent sound throughout the whole performance. We are very fortunate to have Sennheiser on board to support us with the microphone systems,’ he enthused.

‘So far, the system proves to be performing really well and this is consistent with the feedback I’ve received from the crowd,’ added Faisal NA.

The Sennheiser logo is flashed daily on the LED wall at @Live KL’s performing stage area.
