Sennheiser Asia supports Seventh Jakarta Java Jazz festival

INDONESIA: Sennheiser Asia recently lent its support to the seventh Jakarta Java Jazz Festival, with a broad range of its microphones and monitoring systems in use. The manufacturer worked alongside the event’s lead rental company Sumber Ria to supply the equipment.
The festival marked the first time that Sennheiser Asia acted as Java Jazz’s official technical partner, and in collaboration with the Sennheiser Global Relations Team, led by Asian and Australian manager Vince Tan, the manufacturer deployed 34 channels of wireless RF, alongside in-ear monitoring systems and evolution 900 series wired instrument microphones. Among the wireless transmitters supplied were evolution G3 SKM 935/965 handhelds, SKM 2000 mics and SKM 5200s. EM 3732 twin receivers and SR 300 IEM transmitters were also used.
Following the event, Sennheiser Asia president and managing director Ng Chee Soon described himself as ‘delighted’ with the collaboration. ‘From a technical standpoint, it was a tremendous experience for Sennheiser Asia to support and complement the technical crew at the Java Jazz Festival,’ he enthused. ‘We are delighted to be part of this regional landmark festival.’
Dewi AL Gontha, president director of PT Java Festival Production, added: ‘We are pleased to have Sennheiser Asia on board as an esteemed technical partner for the inaugural year. Their core competency and in-depth insights into microphone technology was a driving force in ensuring the seamless workflow of our production team during the festival.’
The festival also included a special Sennheiser booth which was intended to showcase the brand’s history, while offering visitors the chance to sample a range of headphones. Elsewhere, the festival’s stages boasted more than 280 artists from 14 countries, including performances by Carlos Santana, George Benson, Corinne Bailey Rae, Fourplay and George Duke.
