Sennheiser celebrates best of British in Guangzhou

CHINA: Sennheiser China recently sponsored the British Day at the British School of Guangzhou, which attracted approximately 3,300 people. Sharing sponsorship duties with Mini Cooper, the day included entertainment from the Beijing Beatles, various Mini Coopers, a successful Guinness World Record set and a serving of fish and chips.

Held in honour of Queen Elizabeth’s birthday in June, the festival saw locals and overseas Brits enjoy a typical festival atmosphere, with Sennheiser providing the stage and equipment set up.

‘We have had easily 2,000 to 3,000 people here at the festival,’ said Marc Vincent, president, Sennheiser Greater China. ‘It was an absolutely fantastic day and we were thrilled to support the British Chamber in the day’s festivities. The Beijing Beatles performed to a roaring crowd and we had DJ Costef playing all the crowd’s favourite UK hits.’

As part of the entertainment, Sennheiser also provided Momentum headphones as lucky draw prizes while Mini Cooper organised a successful world-record breaking attempt by building the world's biggest Union Jack mosaic, made up of 1,200 Mini toy cars.

‘We’ve had a fantastic day at the British Day celebrations,’ said Tom Simpson, executive manager, British Chamber of Commerce Guangdong. ‘We had fantastic feedback from everyone; the band was amazing, the audience was amazing and nobody seemed to mind the typical English weather either! People came in droves and the atmosphere was simply wonderful. Sennheiser gave us the music and the stage, and they were just incredible with the music and prizes. We’ve been very fortunate with our amazing sponsors who helped us get British Day 2013 off to a grand start.’

‘We had a great time co-sponsoring British Day with Sennheiser and I believe that this is the start of a long relationship between Mini and Sennheiser,’ said Daniel Yan, assistant manager, dealer marketing, market, BMW Group.
