Sennheiser China takes Firenze indoors at Luce Della Vita

CHINA: K-Array’s new Firenze series line array has featured in its first indoor installation. Following another project that took place recently, the team from Sennheiser China returned to the Shanghai Concert Hall, this time turning their attention to the venue’s brand new fourth floor restaurant and nightclub. Set side-by-side, the owners of the club wanted an audio system full of punch but yet one that would not interfere with the restaurant’s relaxing environment.
The main system in the nightclub is formed from eight KH8 enclosures positioned around the room with eight KS8 subwoofers installed in the walls below. Utilising the beam steering technology in the speakers, the system was tuned to limit the overspill into the restaurant.
‘The client was concerned that there would not be enough low frequencies and requested more subwoofers,’ explained project manager, Harley Tao. ‘Then the team turned on the KS8 before opening and the owners were in complete shock, they could not believe the power of the subs.’
Across in the restaurant, the team equipped the space with a combination of KP52s and KP102s. These were positioned discreetly in the corners, supported by KMT18Ps placed below in the walls and driven by KA24 and KA84 amplifiers.
‘This has been an incredible experience for the guests and the owners as the sound has been powerful enough to serve some serious punch to the Shanghai club scene,’ concluded Fred Hu from Sennheiser China. ‘It’s been thrilling to approach a brief like this with K-Array speakers. They are easy to set up and it gives us a greater edge when we want to impress our clients, especially ambitious projects such as these. The owners have been so impressed with the Firenze series, they have requested more for another venue they are opening in the future.’
