SINGAPORE: Sennheiser and Singapore tertiary institution Republic Polytechnic (RP) have recently formalised a collaboration that will see RP students acquire industry-standard audio knowledge via Sennheiser’s German-based partner training portal, the Sennheiser Sound Academy.
Sharen Liu, RP’s director for its School of Technology for the Arts (STA) and Sennheiser Asia president and managing director Ng Chee Soon signed a memorandum of understanding earlier this month, reported to be the first industry-school audio e-learning collaboration in south east Asia.
Under the MOU, Sennheiser Asia will feature its Sennheiser Sound Academy online courses exclusively for RP to supplement its curriculum through e-learning for students enrolled in the following modules: Sound Design, Live Sound and Sound for Media. In addition, Sennheiser will sponsor four annual scholarships to students with outstanding academic achievements and support the school’s student-run radio interest group.
The commencement of the collaboration has also invited future partnerships between both parties such as prospects of joint research and consultancy in the professional audio field.
