Sennheiser confirmed as Green Note sponsor for JZ Festival

CHINA: Sennheiser has confirmed its sponsorship and participation for the upcoming JZ Festival, to be held in Shanghai from September 20th through to October 19th. Now in its ninth year, the festival will be held over three separate events, namely the Sennheiser Green Note, Jazz Around Town and Master Hall, respectively.

‘The level of talent in Shanghai is absolutely unbelievable,’ commented Marc Vincent, president, Sennheiser Greater China. ‘The host and grandmaster of the festival, Ren Yuqing, is a famous bass player who opened several venues in Shanghai to give musicians a chance to perform every night, and hone their skills and professionalism at the highest levels. That is what makes Shanghai, especially the variety of musicians, people from all over the world together performing with the local Chinese artists alone brings a special flavour to this rich city.

‘The Sennheiser Green Note is going to be absolutely magical,’ he enthused. ‘We are on the expo side with eight stages, which will showcase musical talents from around the world and I just can’t wait! There is a true cooperation between Sennheiser and JZ Festival to achieve great music and great sound together.’

The official list of artists to perform at the Shanghai JZ Festival include Robert Glapser, Yasiin Bey (Mos Def), John Scofield, Jack DeJohnette, The Brand New Heavies, Lisa Ono, and Yoga Lin, to name a few. Altogether more than 80 musicians and 200 bands will perform shows on the streets of Shanghai or in the parks, theatres and open areas of the city, covering both sides of the Huang Pu river.
