Sennheiser Digital 9000 used for Anugerah Juara Lagu

MALAYSIA: One of Malaysia’s biggest televised live music events has used Sennheiser’s flagship Digital 9000 wireless system, marking the first televised use of the recently introduced system in South East Asia. Named Anugerah Juara Lagu (also known as the Champion of Songs Awards), the event drew a live audience of 10,000 people plus approximately 4.2 million viewers watching on television channel TV3 and online.
The event, which took place in early January at Kuala Lumpur’s Putra Bukit Jalil Indoor Stadium, was 27th edition of the show. In total, nine channels of Digital 9000 and 5000 Series wireless were deployed together with six channels of evolution wireless G3 in-ear monitoring systems. Sennheiser Asia supported the show together with with local distributor Tegas Broadcast & Multimedia Sdn Bhd.
On top of the two presenters, numerous renowned local musicians such as Shila Amzah, Black & RJ, Bedroom Sanctuary, Ramli Sarip, and Hafiz, amongst others were equipped with SKM 9000 and SKM 5200-II handheld microphones.
In an evening of firsts, Anugerah Juara Lagu also marked the South East Asian debut of Nexo’s STM sound reinforcement system, which was used at front of house. More details can be found in the next issue of Pro Audio Asia.
