Sennheiser supports 2012 Youth Band Sounds competition

CHINA: After sponsoring the Youth Band Sounds competition in 2011, Sennheiser has announced that it was ‘proud’ to be involved with the contest again this year. Various Sennheiser mics were utilised for all performances, and the winner was awarded a vocal mic and a Sennheiser cash voucher by judges Davy Chan, Kevin Li, Sammy So and Adky Wun.

Organised by the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, the Youth Band Sounds competition took place at the HKFYG Tsuen Wan Youth Spot and the Chai Wan Y-Square.

A variety of local bands participated in the contest, and between them utilised four ew G3 135 wireless vocal mics, four e 935s, two e 901s and two e 902 kick drum microphones and four e 904 drum mics. In addition to this, six 905 and e 906 guitar amplifier mics were put to use, as were two 914 overheads and two KM 184 hi-hat ride mics.

The four judges used professional monitoring headphones such as HD 25 Originals, HD 25 IIs, HD 25 C IIs and HD 205s to listen to all performances. Rain In Time was announced as the winner, and was awarded a Sennheiser cash voucher of HK$7,000 and an e 945 vocal microphone.

Additionally, an on-stage game was played during the contest, and for this HD 229 headphones were used.
