SF Cinema partners with Sony in Thailand

THAILAND: Sony projectors have been installed into SF Corporation cinemas across Thailand in one of the company's largest cinema upgrade projects to date. With 31 new SF Cinema screens in five locations receiving new Sony 4K solutions, the project brings the number of fully digital screens in the country to 282 across 40 cinemas.

‘We are pulling out all the stops to create the best cinema experience for our customers,’ remarked Suwat Thongrompo, CEO of SF Corporation. With Sony as our partner, SF Cinema has been able to go fully digital in a cost-effective manner, while generating new revenue streams from the ability to showcase a wider range of movies. Sony’s SRX-R515P is the clear 4K projection system of choice for SF Cinema, as it delivers one of the most immersive and breathtaking cinema experiences for our audiences.’

Back in 2011, SF Cinema screened Thailand’s first 4k movie using a Sony SRX-R320 projector. SF Corporation selected Sony’s SRX-R515P 4K projector for the recent upgrade, which features a smaller housing, lower cost and safe lamp replacement.

‘We are proud of our growing relationship with SF Cinema and are happy to help them make the move to 4K,’ added Tadahiro Fukumoto, GM of Visual Presentation Solutions Division, Professional Solutions Company (PSAP), Sony Electronics Asia Pacific. ‘We share a common goal with SF Cinema, to create the ultimate cinema experience for moviegoers in Thailand and beyond. With Sony as its trusted partner, SF Cinema is going all out to draw more patrons to its cinemas, moving towards its goal of becoming Thailand’s biggest cinema operator.’
