Shanghais LoLa Club opts for Funktion One

CHINA: The newly-opened LoLa Club in Shanghai has been installed with a comprehensive Funktion One nightclub system, which was custom-designed for the installation by Funktion One China.
Located in the Xuhui district of Shanghai, the LoLa Club has been established by a group of Spanish investors and concentrates largely on the hip-hop and house genres, though the venue is also optimised for live performances by bands. Despite being relatively limited in space, the venue is deliberately weighted towards high-end audio, with the accompanying lighting limited to LED fixtures and down-lights. However, the constrained space did mean that the Funktion One installation itself had to be optimised in order to meet the owners’ demands.
The final configuration comprises two 18-inch full-range R1.5 enclosures hung to the left and right of the DJ booth, joined by a single F221 and a dual 21-inch subwoofer. On the glass wall opposite the bar area, meanwhile, four F101 speakers have been mounted with two metre gaps between them, all firing towards the bar while avoiding the glass itself. Two XO-2 two-in, six-out loudspeaker processors tie the system together, with two E25 and two E45 amplifiers delivering power.
