Shure aids conference intelligibility at CAG Training Centre

INDIA: A recent project carried out by New Delhi-based Sun Infonet has included the installation of a Shure conference system at the International Centre for Information Systems & Audit (CAG). The facility is the training centre of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, and as such, welcomes both international delegates belonging to various Supreme Audit Institutions and delegates from national departments for training. The goal of the project was to increase audio intelligibility in meetings by upgrading the existing conference system.

In the conference hall, Sun Infonet installed Shure DC 5900F flush mount discussion units with FP 5981F front plates and Shure GM5924 gooseneck microphone capsules. Each unit can be configured as either a chairman or delegate unit to aid in different format meetings. Shure’s BLX 14 bodypack wireless system with accompanying CVL collar and PG31 headworn microphones allows the trainers freedom of movement while simultaneously instructing students. The wireless system has also been integrated with the wired conference system.

To provide speech reinforcement and uniform sound pressure levels across the conference hall, Quest HPI18i loudspeakers were mounted to the wall at head height. These are powered by a Quest QA2004 with feeds taken from an Allen & Heath ZED 18 mixing desk. Furthermore, the mixer is linked to a Shure DFR 22 digital audio processor with auto feedback elimination.
