Shure and Attero Tech take on Dante networking

WORLD: Sydney-based Audinate has announced that Shure Incorporated has entered into a licensing agreement for its Dante digital audio networking technology, in addition to naming Attero Tech as an official authorised Dante implementer.
The first Shure products to take on Dante networking capabilities are its ULXD4D dual-channel digital wireless receiver and its ULXD4Q quad-channel digital wireless receiver. Dante networking will enable multiple channels of audio to be distributed to a variety of devices over a single Ethernet cable.
‘Dante networking will enable future Shure products to be seamlessly integrated with network-based A/V systems in all types of applications,’ said Christine Schyvinck, executive vice president of global marketing and sales at Shure.
Meanwhile, Mike Sims, director of marketing and sales at Attero Tech said that ‘the adoption of Dante technology has been accelerating rapidly in the market and we have more and more requests from OEMs to integrate Dante into their products. Adding Dante to our portfolio of networked solutions will enable us to offer our customers a Dante solution today, while providing a seamless migration path to AVB,’ he added.
‘Attero Tech has a reputation for it quality and experience in the A/V networking industry, as they are clearly recognised as the leading CobraNet implementer for the past six years,’ commented Audinate CEO Lee Ellison. ‘The combined knowledge of our two companies will help facilitate our OEM partners to introduce exciting new Dante enabled A/V networked products much more rapidly.’
