Shure ensures reliability for Heroes of Remix

CHINA: Heroes of Remix, an electronic dance music (EDM) competition debuted during the summer, broadcast on China’s Jiangsu TV. In addition to the contestants, the show features a judging panel consisting of popular Asian artists: Leehom Wang, Phoenix Legend, Harlem Yu and Psy; MCs and supporting bands, all of whom were required to be connected to a wireless audio network. This challenge was taken on by reputable Chinese sound engineer He Biao, who made use of a Shure solution comprising the Axient Wireless Management Network as well as UHF-R Wireless and ULX-D Digital Wireless Systems, providing 64 channels.

The Axient system reportedly ensured seamless and uninterrupted audio transmission throughout the series, as it made efficient use of available RF. During rehearsals, AXT600 Axient Spectrum Manager was utilised to calculate the allocation of available frequencies and avoid possible interference. The UHF-R and ULX-D were complemented by UA874 antennas, which provided improved signal, while the manufacturer’s Wireless Workbench 6 software managed and monitored the channels.

Also implemented during Heroes of Remix was Shure’s KSM8 dual-diaphragm handheld dynamic microphone alongside KSM9 and KSM9HS wireless condenser mics. Beta58A and WL50 lavalier microphones were also used.
