Siam Niramit Phuket benefits from permanent audio installation

THAILAND: Described as Thailand’s ‘must-see show’, Siam Niramit recently received a permanent sound system installation for its new premises in Phuket. Fuzion Far East Ltd designed a 10.2 system for the new venue, which was sold and installed by Goldenduck Innovation Co Ltd.

After competing for the project, Fuzion Far East designed the system to suit the venue’s requirements. Nexo products featured prominently in the install, which included 21 Geo S1210 loudspeakers, seven Geo S1230 scalable loudspeaker modules, six NX242ES4 digital TD controllers, and a PS15TD-V3 system controller. The GeoS12s were arranged in seven clusters for centre, left, right, far left, far right, upper left and upper right.

Four Nexo RS.18-CI Raysubs act as left and right subwoofers, and all Nexo boxes are driven in active mode to give a better sound. Additionally, four Nexo PS15R speakers are used as side-fill stage monitors.

A total of 22 Quest HPI 8 passive loudspeakers are utilised for left surround, right surround and rear surround, supported by three Quest QA3004 amplifiers. Providing further support are 13 Camco Vortex 6 amplifiers and a Camco EtherCai-Box.

Additionally, five Work Neo6A installation speakers and two ArcSub12s now reside in the control room. A Symetrix 8x8 DSP together with 12 Break In devices and three Break Outs are used for processing the entire system.

‘All together the project took about four of five months,’ said Fuzion Far East’s director and general manager Siri Wongkamolchun. ‘The client was very happy with the job that we did for Siam Niramit Bangkok five years ago, and chose us again for the new one in Phuket.’

Despite admitting that the project was a challenge due to a limited time frame, Mr Wongkamolchun reports that the venue found the right solution in the Nexo products. ‘GeoS12s tick all the boxes such as pricing, durability and performance, and we believe that the system provides an elegant, ergonomic sound reinforcement solution,’ he asserted.
