Sidney Harman passes away

WORLD: Entrepreneur Sidney Harman, who was the co-founder of Harman International, died in Washington DC at the age of 92 on 12th April.
In 1953, Mr Harman co-founded Harman/Kardon, now referred to as Harman International. He sold the company in 1976 when he became deputy secretary of commerce under President Jimmy Carter, but bought back the company just four years later serving as CEO until he stepped down in 2008.
Born in Montreal on August 4, 1918, Mr. Harman grew up in New York City, where he graduated from City College in 1939 with a degree in physics. He is survived by his wife, former Congresswoman Jane Harman.
