Six key priorities announced by ACETA

AUSTRALIA: The first full board meeting of the Australian Commercial Entertainment Technologies Association (ACETA) has taken place, with the board members outlining the association’s first six key priorities. Inaugural president Frank Hinton has described them as ‘a challenging action plan’.
Spanning issues of compliance through to statistics and the Australian domestic trade show schedule, the ACETA priority list is intended to reflect the core reasons behind the formation of the peak body, which was officially announced in March of this year.
The list includes addressing conformity on electrical safety; the collection of industry statistics; moving the campaigning activities of the Australian Wireless Audio Group under the stewardship of ACETA; the development of better audio education within Australia; addressing the Australian trade show calendar and consulting with show organisers; and developing a code of conduct for ACETA members that is intended to become a ‘trust mark’ for customers.
‘We are very aware that as a new organisation we need to walk before we can run, so we have prioritised these six key areas as being where the most urgent action is needed,’ explained Mr Hinton. ‘Sub-committees have been formed where needed and will shortly be consulting with members for their input. We look forward to reporting on progress shortly.’
