Sonotone invests in new premises

INDIA: Mumbai-based distributor and manufacturer Sonotone has recently expanded its operations by moving its administration department into brand new premises located close to the company’s existing property.

The old 200sq-m facility is now completely dedicated to servicing and spare parts, whilst the new 400sq-m premises will house the 11 administration staff in an open plan set up, as well as private offices, a boardroom and a demonstration room.

Sonotone’s 1500sq-m warehouse – located 60km outside of Mumbai – will continue to operate as usual and will ensure that orders placed before 2pm can be dispatched on the same day. As well as distributing JTS microphones, P Audio and db technologies in India, Sonotone also manufactures its own range of pro audio equipment under the DynaTech name, but until now the products have only been available for sale within India.

‘Previously we’d been too cramped and finding a building this close was perfect and serves our future expansion plans,’ said sales manager, Karan Nagpal. ‘We are a company which has been very focused on sound reinforcement with our business, but we now have the capacity to expand into other markets such as the DJ market or fixed install.

‘There are also developing markets such as Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh and we’ve had customers coming to visit us,’ he furthered. ‘The new facility helps to gives those customers reassurance; they have faith and know that they can trust us and are assured by the quality. We have the infrastructure now to be able to react to changes in the market place, and we can look to export the DynaTech brand next year.’
