Sound Land hosts production demonstrations in Chennai

INDIA: Indian distributor Sound Land recently staged product demonstrations for two Italian sound reinforcement brands at the Pro Sound & Light Expo in Chennai. The participating manufacturers were Italy’s Montarbo – including its Palco Plus line array system – and driver manufacturer FaitalPro.
Founded 22 years ago and based in Chennai, Sound Land distributes a broad range of pro audio and lighting brands plus trussing, flight cases, accessories and varied connectors. The company hosted the demonstrations between July 29th and 31st, marking the first time that Montarbo’s Palco Plus line array system had been seen at the Chennai event. The line array used was provided by Swapna Sounds, a rental company based in Kerala.
Also demonstrated were Montarbo’s W17 loudspeaker enclosures plus BX182 active subwoofers for low end, W440A monitors and small-format portable MP6 enclosures. For FaitalPro, Sound Land loaded 15-inch 15FX560 full-range speakers plus an HF14AT driver into custom-built enclosures, together with an 18HP1060-equipped sub.
According to Sound Land’s Aslam Mohammed, the Palco Plus line array was particularly well received with visitors ‘surprised by hearing such quality sound from small enclosures. It has got such great feedback from the professionals’.
Alongside the product demonstrations, Sound Land also took the opportunity to honour a selection of its leading customers from Southern India. Swapna Sounds, Picture Production, Prithvi Audio and Shekar Audio were all handed a special trophy in celebration.
