Sound Solution builds RCF brand awareness in Korea

KOREA: Two recent projects involving the installation of RCF equipment have been carried out by Seoul-based distributor Sound Solution. They include a sizable deployment of the manufacturer’s TT052 column speakers at the Gachon Universtiy Global Campus in Gyeonggi Provice, as well as a new public address and background music system at the Water Polo and Horse Riding Arena in Incheon City.
Not a part of the original tender, RCF first became involved in the Gacheon University audio upgrade after last minute changes were made to the planned specification.
‘Thanks to RCF’s support the products were shipped by air and we were able to deliver on time,’ reported Sound Solution’s sales team manager, Ma Young-Chae.
The installers, Winmediatech, proposed that 40 RCF TT052-A focused beam columns were deployed to cover the conference and lecture rooms — largely for speech reproduction — while six TT2-A enclosures were installed in a multipurpose role in the main auditorium. These were supplemented with a pair of TTS26-As that provide additional LF extension. Four RCF NX12-SMA dedicated floor cabinets were positioned on the stage for monitoring.
‘Sound Solution tuned the system and provided full technical support, and I am convinced that the profile of RCF will have been raised as a result,’ continued Mr Young-Chae. ‘The client is entirely happy with the RCF solution that we proposed.’
Travelling South to Incheon, the location of the upcoming 2014 Asian Games, Sound Solution supplied the Water Polo and Horse riding Arenas with audio equipment installed by partner, Desco. The entire infrastructure was brand new and was designed to provide PA announcements and background music during the events.
RCF Acustica speakers were selected for both indoor and outdoor areas, with 12 H1315WP enclosures functioning as the main speakers in the Horse Riding Arena and six P3115s providing balcony fills outside. In the Arena’s main conference room a further pair of TT22 high-output speakers sit alongside two ART310 stage monitors. Across in the Aquatics Centre the sound is received via four P6215 and an additional 23 P3112 enclosures distributed throughout the stands.
‘RCF was not a well-known brand in Korea before Sound Solution started working with the company. Companies like Winmediatech and Desco are our long term business partners, and started specifying RCF products on projects soon after we started working with the brand,’ summarised Mr Young-Chae. ‘The current perception of RCF is that it is increasingly being recognised by installers operating in a number of sectors and public places, such as offices, rental, churches, entertainment venues and so on, with Sound Solution staff doing their best to promote this.’
