Soundcraft added to Anhui Television Theatre

CHINA: Following the recent installation of JBL sound reinforcement into the live theatre of China’s Anhui Television (as reported by Pro Audio Asia on March 1st), Harman distributor Advanced Communication Equipment (ACE) has now also supplied a Studer Vista 9 and two Soundcraft Vi6 digital consoles for use in the auditorium.
Described as one of the largest and most advanced auditoriums in Asia, the TV Theatre in Anhui Radio and Television Centre comprises two-levels accommodating up to 3,200 guests in a total of 4,300 sq-m. The venue’s broadcast and live sound systems are divided into two areas, with the Vista 9 used in the broadcast area and the two Vi6 consoles deployed as live sound and mix boards. All three mixers can work independently or as backups for each other.
As previously reported, the theatre’s sound reinforcement comprises a fixed solution with JBL AE 6200 and AE 5000 loudspeakers plus 48 AC18s surrounding the audience, and a mobile system including 16 VerTec VT4888DPCN line array elements. BSS London processing units and Crown I-Tech HD amplifiers are also used.
Regarding the purchase of the desks, senior engineer Li Guangyun commented: ‘Keeping our system functional and safe is our number one priority, so having the capability of a redundant system keeps our productions online at all times. Selecting the perfect equipment is a large task that we take very seriously. The Studer and Soundcraft consoles and JBL loudspeakers proved to be the perfect system for our needs. It’s simply very convenient to operate.’
